Message from our Chamber President

I hope you're all enjoying the off-season, taking some time to relax, catch up on projects, or maybe even treating yourselves to a well-deserved vacation! This year has been a good one for the Red River Chamber of Commerce. While a lot of what we do as board members happens behind the scenes and might not be as exciting as some of the above-ground-level things, it's equally vital.

Anyone who owns or manages a property or house here in Red River can tell you how important the foundation is. This year, we've been hard at work addressing foundational issues that needed our attention. We started with updates to our bylaws, developed policies for membership, elections, and finances, and most recently, adopted a board self-governance policy. I know these topics may not sound incredibly exciting, but they're essential to ensure the smooth functioning of our Chamber.

Additionally, we're currently crafting our Strategic Plan, mapping out our path for the next 3-5 years and determining our key areas of focus. Your input from the recent survey we asked our members to complete played a pivotal role in shaping our plans.

We're not just about paperwork, though. We're continuing to put our efforts into our events. We've got exciting plans lined up for next year's events and would like to extend an invitation for you to get involved in these committees. We'll soon be scheduling regular meetings for Vino in the Valley, July 4th, and Oktoberfest.

We would also like to extend our thanks to everyone that volunteered, sponsored, supported, or attended any of the events this past year. Your generous support is the lifeblood of what we do, and all the funds raised during these events go right back into the Chamber, our members, and the community. It's all about making sure your business gets the support it needs, and together, we're ensuring that Our Community Thrives!

Chamber Matters: A note from youCEO

As Brian mentioned, we are really proud to be able to share that the Board of Directors has been hard at work clarifying and defining the exciting future that lies ahead for the Red River Chamber of Commerce. Our board has engaged in an intensive two-day strategic planning session, fueled by the valuable insights from our annual feedback provided by our chamber members. As we look to the coming years, we are placing a strong emphasis on developing a robust organizational infrastructure, strengthening ties to neighboring communities, developing a robust training and networking calendar for our membership, developing new funding sources, and identifying solutions to barriers impacting our membership. All this work will include forming vital committees, completing essential policies, and creating a plan for our leadership. These initiatives will ensure that we have a solid foundation to support our growth and success."

We're eager to increase our membership and engagement levels, with a host of exciting activities and initiatives. From producing a professional membership brochure to conducting a personalized membership drive, our goal is to bring in new members while keeping our existing members engaged and informed. We're also planning to roll out a calendar of training sessions for business owners to enhance their skills and knowledge. By providing these resources and opportunities, we aim to foster a vibrant and thriving business community in Red River.

And as you know, we’re dedicated to developing new funding sources for the Chamber as well, finding solutions to barriers impacting businesses, and expanding our collaborative efforts with key stakeholders in the region. Our aim is to not only host successful events but also explore grant opportunities, while continually striving to enhance our impact on the community.

Through collaboration and leadership, we'll connect, advocate, and promote, making Red River a more vibrant and supportive business environment. With your support, we will make a significant difference in the years to come. Get ready for an exciting journey ahead as we work together to strengthen and grow the Red River Chamber of Commerce!
