Message from our Chamber President

Hello Everyone,

We hope everyone is having a great Holiday Season. I know that many times Holidays are a very busy time of the year here in Red River and the Enchanted Circle, and hopefully you will also have some time to celebrate with friends and family. We have had a couple busy months at The Chamber, we held our annual work session in December where we plan for the upcoming year; exciting things like Budgets, Bylaws and policy revisions, strategic planning, committees etc. We also had some fun with our Business people award nominations too and planning for our upcoming Annual Membership Meeting. We are very excited about sharing a recap of 2023 with you as well as celebrating our Business Winners and sharing our vision for the future. We hope to see you all there!

Speaking of our Strategic Plan, we have already started adopting it and working towards some of the immediate goals and Initiatives. A few things you may have already seen is our Event and Membership Brochures. The Event brochures will help us market our events and help us attract more vendors and sponsors so that we can continue to host High Quality Events. We want to keep growing these events providing the best entertainment and experiences for our guests and participants. We will continue to research and apply for other grants to supplement our events as well. We will be looking for partnerships with other non-profit organizations to identify and secure those opportunities. That is all part of our Development Initiative.

The second Initiative I want to share with you today is our Membership Initiative. Our goal is to Increase our membership while at the same time increasing our offerings. Our Membership Brochure will help us better communicate the advantages of being a Chamber Member as well as outlining all the things we are doing on behalf of our members. We will also be holding a Membership drive to increase our membership and inviting people to join. If you have someone in mind, please let us know or better yet invite them to attend our Annual Meeting with you this January.

We will also be looking for opportunities to develop training for Business owners, things like SWOT analysis, Customer profiles and attraction, Quickbooks, Square and merchant processing, and other training all designed to equip you with the skills you need to run your business successfully. Finally, we will be looking at adding Networking events to our calendar this year. Starting with a few evenings this year, having fun, sharing information, promoting different aspects of Red River and our surrounding communities, snacks, drinks and prizes too! We look forward to working with all our members and helping you with your needs. Working together we can make sure that each of our members is getting what they need to be successful.

When our members are successful, our community is successful, and that is what we are all about; Ensuring our Community Thrives!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Chamber Matters: A note from youCEO

As December draws us into winter, I've spent time this past month preparing for 2024. Just like Earth rests in winter, I've taken the past month and a half to decompose the work we have set forth for ourselves to do. To break down the initiatives, actions and priorities articulated in the 2023-2024 Strategic Plan, and diligently prepare for the upcoming year of productivity.

This preparation encompasses the 4 Initiatives the Board has identified for the following year:

  • Reinforce Strong Organizational Infrastructure
  • Engage Membership
  • Development & New Funding Sources
  • Creative Solutions to Barriers Impacting Member Businesses

Each Initiative includes actions and priorities as well - and, as appropriate, staff will be operationalizing these items to ensure that we accomplish them throughout the year.

An excellent example of this is as follows:

  • Initiative: Engage Membership
  • Action: Increase networking opportunities, theme specific - 2x by December 2024

Priorities: Make sure membership feels connected; facilitate a sense of belonging; add value to membership; connect with membership to stay engaged with their successes and needs.

Therefore, in accordance with the strategic plan we have set out a calendar for 2024, and are pleased to present it to you today: our comprehensive calendar of events. We are dedicated to growing into the new year with the solid foundation created by the legacy of the past. Get ready for a thriving 2024!
